| SWANA’s 2025 Student Design Competition is now open for team applications! Looking to be a part of an exciting team of students working to solve real-world problems, receive national recognition and earn a monetary award? Form a team with your program advisor and other like-minded, focused students. Submit your team’s application to SWANA for the Student Design Competition, ending in April 2025! Application Deadline: December 4, 2024 Download the Problem Statement Document and student team form! What is the SWANA SDC? SWANA’s Student Design Competition (SDC) is a student team competition to solve a “real world” problem faced by solid waste and resource management professionals. The competition provides design experience for students interested in pursuing an education and/or career in solid waste, resource management, and related environmental fields. Students will gain experience in solving complex issues in solid waste and resource management within a supportive and enjoyable environment, allowing them to showcase their talents and connect with potential employers, helping to build valuable professional networks. Who can participate? Any undergraduate or graduate student enrolled full-time or part-time in a college or university and pursuing an education and/or career in solid waste and resource management. With guidance from your faculty advisor, start forming your teams now! Each team should include 2 to 8 student members who are eager to collaborate and compete in the SWANA Student Design Competition. The recommended team size is four (4).
